Navigating the opportunities and risks that AI-powered instructional tools offer is a complex task. The education community needs to simultaneously:

Learn about and from what is happening already.

Mitigate the harm of bad uses.

Identify and leverage beneficial uses.

Communicate consistently, transparently, and humanely.

We outlined specific actions across each of these four categories, tailored to the roles of school system leaders, state leaders, teachers, students and families, product developers, funders, and policymakers.
